The Big Four is a documentary film in which the extreme popularity of English football in Africa raises deeper questions. Behind the apparent mundanity of football’s joy, a larger story of dependency, power and identity emerges. As the people of Okene, Nigeria, prepare for their 10th annual ‘Arsenal Festival’ the film digs into the origins and consequences of the fixation on British football.
